Great discussion there, folks! =) Xanatos, thanks for the contribution. I think it was very worthy! If it's not too much to ask, would you take a guess about a possible spillover for the next LOK game? (could be just a briefing). Tks again.

Actually, I have a theory about the Elder God being an origin of death if you'd like to hear. :p

[left]Spillover? You mean what I think the next game will entail?
Honestly, I have little faith in the series being officially continued but if it were, I think they'd be wasting a lot of world-building to not create a proper single-player counterpart to Nosgoth. They've developed enough intriguing new lore and factions for that game to justify it.

As far as continuing where Defiance left off, I did have a few ideas long ago while perusing the ill-received Dead Sun gameplay footage. One revolved around the idea of Kain having been defeated in that future rather than it being a post-restoration. Though for that, the environment would have needed revising into a more desolate place. But anyway...Vampires able to shift realms, sucking souls...Why would they, presumably some far-down descendants of Kain's blood, be soul reavers when the Elder God is Kain's enemy? Didn't make sense to me so I did some retooling. Figure Kain must've been cast off someplace (perhaps the demon dimension again, where he might rescue Janos in a post-BO2 era - or maybe the Eternal Prison would make a return to the series) and, in the time since, the EG has cultivated Kain's second brood (and many following, ultimately evolving into the Saradin) into a brand new cult akin to the Ancients. Story-wise, it'd entail the protagonist (whoever that might be, probably one of Kain's newer Saradin children defecting from the EG worship) on some journey, eventually rescuing Kain (and Janos?) from wherever then working with them to arrange the Elder God's downfall again. Much like Soul Reaver did with Blood Omen, it'd separate largely from old continuity by being set in a far future but still stay closely tied to it as well.

The other...Well, one's enough for now. The other one is long and I'm tired.

realy tbh sounds like we kinda had the same idea..almost..(if you go back and read my reply to this topic then let me know if we did or not.if you want lot of reading but the ideas might look good in your eyes idk about everyone els but ya^^).
with that saied id also like to hear about what you guys think about being able to create and have vampire minions and a army,we can mark out the time travel idea stuff.
while it chould be possable to have alot of outcomes from going back to change the past,i belive it whould be alot more work then what those guys are used to;mostly case time travel as in game thing (for games that have it) give alot more possabiltys then what we can find, but vampire minions that might be possable, look at shadow of morrodor having alot of orcs possed by your warith when it toches them, pretty usefull thing for making a vampire army right?

Vampire minions would fit if the series tried its hand at an open-ended RPG style ala Bethesda or went back to a more open world in general ala Soul Reaver/Blood Omen. Otherwise, it doesn't fit well into a linear path ala SR2/Defiance.

Time travel cannot simply be marked out. It's integral to most major events of the series at this point. And I certainly will not go back and read your reply because it is still unreadable but I'd bet a lot that they aren't the same idea.

Dead Sun was being developed for PS4 launch. Any future game will look at least as good, graphically speaking. And time travel will HAVE to come back at some point. As of Defiance's end, Kain is in the Blood Omen era. To kill the Elder God, he must be in the Soul Reaver era (or later) so that the event won't just totally wreck the timestream. The EG has been massively influential throughout history. Killing him too far in the past could be cataclysmic.

I don't even know what you're asking about with "how they going to make this work in your opinion?" but I'll assume you mean Kain (or, rather, his hypothetical EG-cult children) shifting realms.
In which case, the answer is simple: They inherit the gift from Kain.

Consider that Kain goes all throughout Blood Omen outright seeing spirits and sucking their soul energy (Note: He sucks blue blood from them but accounting for consistency of narrative, it may as well be soul energy). Some aspect of Mortanius' necromantic method of raising Kain must have given him some portion of vampire-wraith-like abilities. And he passes these in some small part to his original clan: Melchiah can move between the realms outright and Zephon can shift partially (he is visible in the spectral realm though he doesn't seem to perceive the realm very clearly - Unlike Melchiah, he won't attack spectral Raziel.)

Though even disregarding that interpretation: In Defiance, Raziel reveals his shifting power to be largely a force of will. He wills his spirit free of the flesh to become spectral and then when the EG takes away his portals back to the material plane, he begins willing his spirit into corpses (which he then wills to take the form of his own flesh) to become material. The Elder God could conceivably teach his cult members this ability with time and persistence.
